Magnesium Citrate and Vitamin B6

Magnesium citrateis a salt form of magnesium with citric acid. This form is considered one of the organic compounds of magnesium that is well absorbed by the body. Magnesium citrate, which can be used as a supplement in powder or capsule form, attracts attention especially with its high water solubility. Pyridoxal-5-phosphate (P5P) is the active coenzyme form of vitamin B6. This form, which plays a role in the functioning of many enzymes in the body, stands out as the direct active form of the form that must be converted in the liver after the intake of classical vitamin B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride). The combined use of these two compounds may be preferred in formulations for various reasons. Formulation considerations include, in particular, the ability of P5P, the active form of vitamin B6, to contribute as a co-factor to some of the biologically relevant processes of magnesium.
